8 months Pre Sea Training on campus (Fully residential) followed by 10 months of Structured Shipboard Training as Trainee Marine Engineer (TME) / Junior Engineer(JE).
Minimum Qualification:
(a) BE / B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering or BE/B Tech in marine engineering (non DGS approved) with minimum marks of 50% in final year
(b) The candidate must have secured minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th or in Degree Exam.
Note
1. The BE / B. Tech degree or any other higher degree such as 5 year integrated M.E. / M. Tech degree must have been obtained from AICTE approved institute or the llT’s or from University Engineering Colleges (Colleges directly run by University).
2. These Candidates are exempted from appearing in all subjects of part ‘A’ of both MEO Class – lV and MEO Class – ll grade of examinations.
3. A relaxation of 5% marks in English shall be granted to the candidates who are native of the Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and belong to Scheduled Tribes and who and both of whose parents were born in those islands and belong to the Scheduled Tribes of those islands.
OR
(a) A full time BE/B Tech in all Mechanical Engineering streams e.g Mechanical and Automation, Mechanical and Electronics, Mechanical and Automobile etc However’ the word ‘, Mechanical” should be first indicating that mechanical engineering is the core and the second subject is the elective.
b) The candidate must have secured minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th standard or in Degree Exam.

1. The above BE / B.Tech degree or any other higher degree such as 5 year integrated M.E. / M.Tech degree must have been obtained from AICTE approved institute or the llT’s or from university Engineering colleges (colleges directly run by university).
2. These candidates will be required to pass Part’ A’ subjects of both MEO class _ lV and MEO Class ll grade of examinations. These candidates may be considered for exemption from appearing in subject of Mathematics and Applied Mechanics.

Age Criteria:
The maximum age limit is 28 yrs and shall be applicable for General Category candidates.
The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to “scheduled Caste” (SC) / “scheduled Tribe” (ST) Category shall be relaxed by 5 years.
The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to Non-creamy layer of “Other Backward Classes” (OBC) Category shall be relaxed by 3 Years.
The maximum age limit for women candidates of each category shall be relaxed by additional 2 years.
Medical & Physical Standards: Candidates should be healthy and physically fit for sea service as per STCW 2010/MS Medical rules 2000 and all its amendments as applicable to seafarers and have to undergo a Medical Examination with the Company appointed Doctor.

Please note candidates who get selected with us need to have mandatory documents Adhar Card, Pan Card, Passport.
Step 1: Click on the “Apply Now” button, fill up the Application Form and pay the application fees.
Step 2: On completion of the first step successfully, 2 days before the exam you will receive a link over E-mail for an Online Examination which will be held on ( Click here for exam schedule link ). The login details, as well as other instructions, shall be provided in the E-mail. Please make sure you provide the correct credentials (E-mail and phone number) at the time of filling out the Application Form.
Step 3: A webinar will be conducted for PI/PLI assessment (only for those candidates who are qualified in the online exam).
Step 4: Personal Interview at Mumbai office for qualifying candidates. The details of the venue will be sent in the e-mail. (Approximately after 10 days)
Step 5: On Selection in the Personal Interview, you shall undergo a Medical Test with the Company-appointed Doctor.
Step 6: A merit list shall be displayed on the Institute Website.
Step 7: The candidates who make it to the Merit List will be sent a provisional admission confirmation and shall be asked to pay a booking amount.
Step 8: After receiving the booking amount, the joining formalities will be provided to the candidates.
Step 9: The admitted candidates have to report on the morning of commencement date of the course at SIMTI.
SIMTI provides the required documents i.e Sponsorship letter and Admission letter on completion of the selection process for purpose of securing educational loans.
Stipend & Salary
Stipend during the training period shall be determined by the market conditions as well as the organization that the trainees join for their Structured Shipboard Training period of Minimum 10 months.
The total training period is 18 months – 8 months on-shore as a Graduate Marine Engineer and 10 months on board the ship (4 months as Trainee Marine Engineer and 6 months as a Junior Engineer.
After completion of training, it is mandatory to clear the examination conducted by MMD and obtain requisite Certificate of Competency (CoC).
