With over four decades of experience in the shipping industry as a marine engineer, he has served with distinction both at sea and ashore. He began his career with the Shipping Corporation of India and later sailed with United Ship Management, Hong Kong, gaining extensive operational and engineering expertise.
He holds the prestigious Extra First Class Marine Engineer certificate issued by the Directorate General of Shipping. As an academician by training, he also possesses the “Training for Trainers and Assessors” certification from the Maritime Training Institute of SCI, reflecting his strong foundation in maritime pedagogy.
A Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineers (India), he serves on the School Board of Marine Engineering at the Indian Maritime University (IMU). His long association with IMU includes serving on its Executive Council, Academic Council, and Court, as well as holding leadership roles such as Institute In-charge of the Marine Engineering and Research Institute (Mumbai campus) and Director at various IMU campuses, contributing significantly to the advancement of marine engineering education.
